BIDDER REGISTRATION


Prospective bidders may register to bid at Hantman’s by fully completing the (1) Bidder Registration form and by signing and returning the (2) Conditions of Sale form either by fax or U.S. mail. Both forms must be filled out satisfactorily and returned prior to bidding at Hantman’s. A buyer’s premium of twenty percent (20%) will be added to the hammer price of each lot.

ABSENTEE AND TELEPHONE BIDDING

Absentee and telephone bidding services are available to registered bidders as a courtesy. If instructed, Hantman’s will execute absentee bids and advise prospective purchasers free of charge. Lots will always be bought at the lowest price possible relative to other bids and the reserve, if any, on a lot.

Hantman’s offers this service as a convenience to our clients who are unable to attend the sale and will not be held responsible for errors in or failure to execute bids, whether in the sales room, by telephone, or by absentee bid form. When placed by telephone, bids must by confirmed by e-mail, letter or fax (301) 770-4135, and are accepted only at the buyer’s risk.



ADVICE TO ABSENTEE BIDDERS:

Please bid as early as possible, preferably no later than 5:00 pm prior to the auction. In the event of identical bids, the earliest received will take precedence.

Use the Absentee/Telephone Bidding form and be sure to carefully note lot numbers and description. You must bid a specific amount and the amounts must be in increments as follows:

SPECIAL NOTE TO BIDDERS

All goods are sold “as is” without guarantee as to count, measurement or condition, even though some defects are noted in the catalogue and/or may be orally pointed out by the auctioneer during the sale.

Weights and dimensions shown in the catalogue are provided as guidelines only, and not intended as precise. Please be advised that some weights in the catalogue have been estimated and therefore should not be relied upon. We make no warranty whatsoever to the purchaser of colored stones as to such stone's status as natural, heated or treated. We make no representations or warranties that any clock or watch sold by us is in working order, or that it can be repaired to be in working order, or that all of its working parts are original. We encourage prospective buyers to personally inspect the lots prior to the sale.


SPECIAL NOTICE TO PROSPECTIVE BUYERS OF ART

All goods are described to the best of our knowledge; however, neither Hantman Associates, Inc., nor the consignor provide any warranty or representation as to the correctness of the catalogue description and no warrantay whatsoever to the purchaser of authorship, age or condition.


PAYMENT

Payment is due at the end of each sale, or upon receipt of an invoice, unless other arrangements have been authorized in advance by the auction house. Cash, good check or credit cards is accepted. Hantman’s reserves the right to hold property until checks clear. Potential buyers of expensive lots should discuss payment before the sale.

A service charge of 1.5 percent will be added each month to unpaid balances beginning 28 days after the sale date. A $25 fee will be charged for returned checks. If a check fails to clear after the second deposit, the purchaser will be held responsible for any and all fees incurred until we have collected good funds.


PICK-UP AND REMOVAL OF PURCHASES

All purchases must be removed within 24 hours following a sale unless special arrangements are made in advance with the auction house. There will be a charge for property not picked up after a sale and subsequently packed and moved to Hantman’s warehouse. After five business days, storage charges will accrue subject to the Conditions of Sale.


SHIPPING SERVICES

Shipping is arranged as a courtesy and at the buyer’s expense. Buyers of small items may choose to use a local packing and shipping facility. Payment for shipping can be made with Master Card or Visa. Regardless of shipping methods, Hantman’s must have received cleared funds to releases property for shipment.
